Rooted In Play:
Mom & Kids Outdoor Play Program
Delivered in partnership with: The Pine Project
Funded by: Toronto Foundation
Discover the joy of the outdoors, build fundamental movement, and connect with nature and community.
Hijabi Ballers is proud to partner with The Pine Project to bring you Rooted in Play—a special 11-week outdoor nature and movement program designed for mothers, female caregivers, and their children.
In a world filled with screens, children need unstructured time to explore, move, and build a lasting relationship with the natural world. Rooted in Play brings families together in the forest to foster outdoor exploration, active physical play, and sisterhood. Through guided nature walks, tracking local plants and wildlife, and storytelling, mothers and caregivers will gain practical naturalist skills and mentoring techniques to confidently facilitate outdoor movement for years to come.
This program also provides a warm, culturally safe space for Muslim families to share faith-based reflections on nature, connect with one another, and build lasting friendships.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Child-Focused Activities: Active games, nature discovery, creative outdoor play, and fundamental movement skill-building.
Caregiver Empowerment: Learn practical mentoring techniques and nature-based facilitation to keep your family active outdoors year-round.
Whole-Family Bonding: Shared group exploration that strengthens family connections and fosters a deep love for nature.
Faith & Community: A welcoming space to reflect, share experiences, and build community with other Muslim mothers and families.
